The short, honest version.

Nitepick is built to do one thing without collecting more than it needs. No accounts, no ads, no third-party trackers — just anonymous, first-party analytics.

What we store

• The event you create — its title and the date range.
• The nights each person marks, and the first name they type in.
• A random device key so you can come back and edit your own response.
• A random organizer key so the creator can manage and lock the event.

What we don't

• No accounts, passwords, or email addresses.
• No ads, and no third-party trackers — analytics is anonymous and first-party (see below).
• We never sell or share your data.

Cookies

Just two, and both are functional — the device key that recognizes your response, and the organizer key that lets a creator manage their event. No tracking cookies.

Anonymous analytics

We collect anonymous, aggregate usage data — which screens are opened, which buttons are tapped, and when an event is created or locked — to understand how Nitepick is used and make it better. It carries no names, no event titles, and nothing that identifies you; it stays on our own servers; and it's never used to follow you around other sites. A random anonymous ID is kept in your browser to group events into a visit.

Weather forecast

If you tap "Check the forecast" on a locked night, your approximate location is sent to Open-Meteo to look up the weather. It only happens when you ask, it's rounded to roughly city level, and we never store it.

Keeping your data

Events stay accessible through their link, and there are no accounts attached to them — when you're done, simply stop sharing the link. Events that haven't been used for about six months are deleted automatically. We only ever keep a first name and the nights each person marks, so there's nothing sensitive stored.
